Our History

The haulage company started modestly with a Morris Oxford and a bogie trailer in 1970. Demand gradually increased and the first truck, a Bedford, came quickly. We managed to run through a few 4-horse Bedfords before the first 6-horse Mercedes was purchased. After a few more years, 1982, came the first brand new Scania bus for 9 horses.

With the new bus and good times in the racing sport, demand increased like an avalanche. In 1983, a new 6-horse Scania was purchased. In 1985 our first truck trailer arrived. It was also one of the first in Sweden with space for 6 horses and TV monitoring. The Scania bus with the trailer attached measured 22 meters and could load 15 horses with packing and still had plenty of space.

In 1988, another new Scania bus was purchased, in 2003 a new Mercedes and in 2005 a new 10-horse Scania. This is how the journey has gone to today's ultra-modern fleet. The horses now travel safer than ever. But we also have experience and knowledge, from England alone we have transported about 5000 horses.

All vehicles have been designed by Håkan Dysell himself, who has patented several solutions in the horse vehicles over the years.

Since April 2017, Akka Riding Center AB / Lena Natt och Dag operates Håkans Horse Transport.
